§  Belimo University is the training department of Belimo. I was responsible for customer training to customers across North America.

§  Designed, conducted and assisted trainers with hands-on training courses using custom designed training kits

Western Canada Sales Manager

§  Belimo manufactures electric actuators for air dampers and valves for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC). The company now has over 1000 employees worldwide.

§  Initially based in Mississauga, Ontario; I was the first employee in Canada and over 17 years helped to grow Belimo to be the predominant supplier of actuators in the commercial HVAC field. I transferred back to British Columbia when Belimo established a sales manager there.

§  While working as a Sales Manager; I took additional responsibilities as a Global Key Account Manager, was President of the BC Chapter of the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) with over 400 members and started my PhD in eLearning.

Marketing Manager

§  Airvector manufactures fans, blowers, grilles and diffusers in a 90,000 sq. ft. plant in Oakville, Ontario. I managed the sales teams that sold HVAC OEM’s and to distributors across Canada. I developed a consistent method of costing products using UNIX based manufacturing software and set up a pricing system. I was responsible for developing a marketing theme and sales tools such as catalogues, signs, premiums and trade shows. I sought, evaluated and negotiated business deals to expand markets and product lines.

§  Personally met with major customers and completed a Customer Satisfaction Survey. Wrote a Marketing Plan including Objectives, Market Analysis, Strategy by Market, Budget, Job Descriptions and an Action Calendar. Designed and implemented a Product Knowledge Training course complete with Training Evaluation report. Developed a new Indoor Air Quality product line. Exceeded my 1989 Sales forecast by 15% and stayed well within budget.

§  National Heating Ltd. distributed the ESWA radiant heating system in British Columbia.

§  I was co-owner and ran the company with my partner. Designed and implemented all computer systems including all accounting, inventory, invoicing, sales lead tracking and direct mail. Created sales literature, promotional programs and sales compensation package.

§  Doubled sales in the first year and sold more ESWA than all other Canadian distributors combined. Initially responsible for all administration and later for sales and marketing. Employed 7. Became familiar with all facets of running a small business.

Executive Vice President

§  N.A.P. was the third largest window manufacturer in B.C. Initially in charge of administration and later had overall responsibility while the owners were starting a new business. Also oversaw Horizon Data Systems (computer sales), Poly-Tec (plastic extrusions), and Canadian Thermal Industries (vinyl siding sales). N.A.P. employed over 100 people.

§  Took the company from small plants making one product line with few systems to a multiple product line manufacturer, completely computerized in a modem plant.

Planning Project Analyst

§  Worked in the planning department on a project to determine how the distribution centre network across Canada was to be expanded and improved. Developed a computer model of a distribution center. Presented final report to Peter Bentley, Canfor President.

§  Worked on various special projects for the publisher between years at MBA school including a computerized chi-square analysis comparison of test markets across Canada.
